Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a visiting faculty position in the Department of Spanish and Linguistics for the 2020-2021 academic year. The rank will be Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor depending on qualifications.
Position is renewable for a second year pending needs of the department, evidence of excellent teaching and administrative approval. Position also requires tutoring students in the Spanish Writing Center.
Pursuant to cultivating an inclusive college community, the search committee will holistically assess the qualifications of each applicant. We will consider an individual’s record working with students and colleagues with diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. We will also consider experience overcoming or helping others overcome barriers to academic success.
Applicants must possess or be close to completing a doctorate in Linguistics, with expertise in teaching Spanish and introductory linguistics courses highly desirable. Applicants should have a record of teaching Spanish language at the college level. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Candidates must submit the following items via Interfolio: a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript(s), teaching and research statements, and teaching evaluations. Applicants must arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted directly to Interfolio by their recommenders. The deadline for applications is January 2, 2020.
