Haverford College’s Department of Spanish invites applications for a 1-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Spanish starting July 2023.
The successful applicant will teach 5 courses, two at the advanced level in their area of research, the other three at the beginner and intermediate levels of language instruction.
Requisitos
The successful candidate should have a specialization in either medieval, early modern, or colonial Spanish-American literature and culture with an ability to teach courses that encompass these historical periods. Of particular interest are candidates who through their teaching and research engage with topics of gender, race, sexuality and/or indigeneity in a global and/or transatlantic Spanish context. In addition, candidates who in their teaching and research engage with comparative or multi-lingual topics (Portuguese-Catalan-Arabic-Hebrew) are particularly welcome.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Spanish; ABD considered. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required. The incumbent should be committed to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts setting and present evidence of a solid, viable program of scholarly research.
