Descripción 

The School of Languages and Cultures (SLC) in the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana welcomes applications for the position of Lecturer of Spanish to begin August 2024. This is a full-time, continuing position. The Lecturer will generally teach four undergraduate classes of three credits each per semester. The specific classes taught are at the discretion of the Chair of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the SLC Head. Possible courses may include any of the following: Spanish for Heritage Speakers, Spanish phonetics and phonology, Spanish monosyntax, history of the Spanish language, dialectology, sociolinguistics, and language variation and change. In addition, some service activities with SLC and the Spanish and Portuguese program will be expected, such as participation in extracurricular events or program-building/program-promoting activities, as arranged with the faculty in Spanish and Portuguese and the SLC Head.

The contract of the successful candidate will begin on August 12, 2024.

Requisitos 

The successful candidate will possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish. The minimum level of education required is a Master’s degree in Spanish language, linguistics, literature, or culture, or related field, including but not limited to Spanish and its Literatures.
