The Humanities Division at Graceland University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor in Spanish to run the Hispanic Studies program beginning August 2020 with the potential to move to a tenure line the following academic year.
The 4/4 teaching load consists primarily of Spanish language coursework but also includes topics courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Teaching load also includes a section of our first-year seminar in critical thinking. Demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and service is required.
Candidates should have demonstrated ability teaching Spanish language courses. Experience teaching Latin American literature and cultural studies a plus. Ph.D. required by August 2020.
Qualified applicants should submit a letter of application, c.v., evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of recommendation (at least one must address the candidate’s teaching).
