The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures invites applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position beginning in August of the 2020-2021 academic year. We seek candidates in Latin American literature and culture, with a specialization in the field of contemporary Latin American studies. We welcome candidates from a wide variety of areas of expertise. The ability to contribute to the college's Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program is strongly desired. The position will include teaching six four-credit courses annually; approximately every other year, one of these sections will take place during our intensive 3-week January term. Teaching load will include Spanish language and Latin American literature and culture courses. Additionally, the positon includes advising, scholarship and campus and culture courses. Additionally, the position includes advising, scholarship and campus service responsibilities. A willingness to work with student and community organizations is preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a doctoral degree in Latin American literature and culture or a related field by the time of employment, but candidates who are ABD will be considered. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required.
