The Modern Language Department seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and experienced Upper School (with the flexibility to serve in the Middle School) teacher for its Spanish program.
The Spanish Teacher is highly interactive and communicative in and out of the classroom, collaborating closely with colleagues. The ideal candidate will be an excellent student advisor, projecting a vivid presence in the Upper School. This person will have a desire and ability to take on a significant extracurricular role. Additionally, the Spanish Teacher must possess an enthusiastic commitment to the importance of building and sustaining a diverse, just, inclusive, and equitable academic environment.
Under the general supervision of the Upper School Head, the Spanish Teacher is responsible for the instructional program, general operations and management of their assigned class within the Modern Language Department. This position is responsible for building on the academic foundations established at earlier grade levels, developing lesson plans, advising students, independent learning exercises, material, curricula and methods that keep in mind the needs of the individual child and whole-group dynamic.
Requisitos
Successful candidates will possess a high level of proficiency in all of the modalities of the language - speaking, listening, reading and writing - with an ability to engage curious and active boys who thrive on imaginative and versatile pedagogy.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in teaching or related field required. Master’s degree or higher preferred. Must possess a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
