The Department of Spanish at Villanova University invites applications for a continuing term position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Instructor beginning August 2023. Duties and Responsibilities
The instructor will offer three courses per semester at the elementary level. These courses meet four times a week and are taught with coordination across the department. We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching introductory language classes and are able to bring knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures into their classroom. The successful applicant is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing Villanova’s Spanish language program, a willingness to work closely with undergraduate students, and a proactive approach to departmental service. We are particularly interested in candidates with a keen interest in current second language teaching methodologies, such as the task-/inquiry-based approach. Our future colleague is expected to actively contribute to the University’s mission of advancing a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, mentoring, and service, as well as through engagement with faculty, students, and staff.

Requisitos 

Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred. Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English. Excellent teaching credentials, with at least two years’ experience teaching Spanish at the university level.
