Salaries at Kenyon are competitive and are commensurate with experience. There are a number of faculty development opportunities (e.g. travel, research funds, etc.) for which appointees are eligible.

Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Spanish at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in July 2024.

In the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, the Spanish program at Kenyon offers a wide range of Spanish language, literature, film, and translation courses, and it allows students to major and minor in Spanish. The program is looking for an energetic and innovative candidate to teach language courses at all levels, courses in the curriculum, advanced courses in the candidate’s field of expertise, and courses that contribute to interdisciplinary programs. The teaching load consists of a 3/2 course schedule. 

Requisitos 

PhD in Spanish Language and Literature, Hispanic Studies, Comparative Literature, or a closely related field is required. The successful candidate will have native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, a demonstrable record of teaching excellence in Spanish as a second language, and a promising research agenda.

Preference is for a generalist in Latin American literature and culture, with a complementary field of specialization that might extend to Indigenous Studies, Migration or Border Studies, and/or LGBTQ+ Studies.
