The Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Houston invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Spanish Linguistics at the level of Assistant Professor beginning September 2021. Candidates will be required to teach courses in Spanish linguistics at the Ph.D., M.A. and undergraduate levels. Teaching load 2/2.
Ph.D. required; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Specialization in Spanish syntax strongly preferred, and ability to teach pragmatics a plus. Candidates working from language acquisition perspectives, especially second-language acquisition, are highly desirable. The candidate selected must demonstrate a strong research agenda.
