Samford University’s Howard College of Arts and Sciences invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for a tenure-track position in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at the assistant professor level beginning August 2024. This full-time tenure track position is a 9-month appointment and carries a 24-credit hour academic year teaching load.
Requisitos
Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. or be ABD in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, and/or Linguistics. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach and/or develop courses in Spanish for the Professions. The successful candidate should have a strong background in the humanities and be prepared to teach Spanish language courses across the curriculum—elementary and intermediate, as well as advanced courses in the candidate’s field of specialization. ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor until Ph.D. is completed.
Candidates must show evidence of excellence in teaching, outstanding scholarly potential, commitment to undergraduate teaching, and have an active research agenda. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and
English and meet the eligibility requirements of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
