The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a Spanish tenure-track position (open specialization) starting August 1, 2024. Responsibilities include teaching all undergraduate levels of Spanish language, literature, and culture. The position may require the professor to offer cultural courses in English.
The department offers a full range of courses in the undergraduate day program attended by approximately 2,000 members of the Corps of Cadets. The possibility of faculty-led summer programs abroad and the availability of grants from The Citadel Foundation to support faculty research and presentation of research are attractive features of academic life at the college. Teaching-load is 4-4.
Requisitos
The candidate needs a Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment. Candidates with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in a second language are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, an excellent teaching record, and show promise of scholarship.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.
